I can't remember the exact date but it was in the early days following the attacks. I was walking to the subway along Astoria Blvd to catch the N train to work. As I passed by
the 114th precinct the buses were just unloading. The buses I refer to contained the brave men and women of the NYPD. They were coming off their overnight shift at the World Trade Center. I don't like to call it that "ground" name, it just doesn't feel right for me. For me, it will always be the World Trade Center. As I walked passed them I could see the gas masks attached to their belts and that horrible "dust" covering their boots. There are no words to describe the looks on their faces..........
